Hi guys .
I currently have an iPod touch connected via my aux for listening to music also wired in a usb socket into glove box to keep it charged.
Im looking for a a mp3 player as I no longer have iTunes on my laptop .
Looking for suggestions as to which mp3 player for a good quality sound .
Cheers guys for any help with this .

Come on guys what do you use for playing your music through the stereo just looking for ideas or alternatives to iPod touch

I use my phone but would like to know if a usb stick could be used somehow with the original radio/cd

When I've used my phone it doesn't sound as good as the iPod touch .
I have the lead in headphone port and it plugged into a usb i fitted into the glove box to charge .
Cheers for the reply .

It depends what car I’m in.

If I’m in the Z4, then I use either the iPhone/iPod connected via Bluetooth via a Pure DAB via FM (can be hard-wired too).

In the Alfa, I simply plug in a 128gb USB stick with folders of MP3s.

Not seen the need for another form of music player, as my Mac/iPhone/iPod/iPad all work fine with iTunes (although I understand it’s a pig on Windows).

The last decent ‘audio’ player I saw played everything from MP3, to MP4, to WMA, and FLAC. Think it was something made by FiiO.

Cheers guys
looks like i will have to stick with the touch or get the Android head unit I've been looking at .

MP3's are getting a bit long in the tooth now, most people are moving away from them due to pretty horrible compression algorithms.

The modern (and most inexpensive way) would be just to use something like a Spotify account to build a playlist onto your phone then stream it via a bluetooth receiver that plugs into your aux socket like this.... https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=104224
