MOT passed

Sailed through, hasn't moved since September and the arrival of the daily F56 JCW & was SORN'd.

Felt special getting back into it today to get her road legal. Taxed from tomorrow so hoping for a sunny weekend to get a few miles. After months in the easy to drive mini, it felt like the clutch and steering wheel were set in concrete, and I'd forgotten how bad 1st to 2nd was  . Loved the brief drive today & can't wait for more. Harder to drive, but so much more rewarding :driving:

Slow puncture on one tyre, but given its only done 24k and I know a lot of those were gentle motorway miles, as I did them, I'm guessing what I believe might be the original tyres are due a change. Will be researching what to go for over three coming weeks.

Gained some new rattles which I need to resolve, seems that the winter rest let some gremlins into the cabin. One from right behind the seats, thinking where the roof folds into, but hard to reach there when driving if you don't have gibbon length arms, so will find a willing passenger.

Always a sigh of relief when it passes

Stuart

Weirdly was only concerned as it hasn't moved in months, took the long route to the garage just to make sure it was all warmed up, then checked oil and coolant, them gave it some beans :P

Rattles will be the extra bits that we stuffed in those voids when taking it apart. The other rattle is where Srhutch broke some pins off the plastic, no worries

That must be nearly 2 years ago we did that :o

 yes it was ages ago, were they 'time release' rattles you installed :o

Dreading to ask the wife for help, as she seems completely deaf to rattles & an arguement will ensue

Good news on the MOT

My girlfriend 'wouldn't' hear a swarm of bees in the car. She knows how much rattles get on my wick so pretends they aren't there to make me feel better I think!

Good news on the MoT. :D Welcome back to the land of the living. Time for some fun. :driving:

Solution is a gathering of 5 guys, at about 12 pm, just before a Thai restaurant opens and we can give you an evaluation on the issues

Was a good meal that - plus the benefit of a dash cam & intravee all working on the way home, minus a CDV

I do recall the video of just how much standing about there was during the evaluation phase :D

Good to hear:)
Im getting vibra engine mounts and 2 litres of Miller's box oil plus dif oil to see of makes my 1st to 2nd better as others seemed to have sorted with this route

Enjoy it buddy

I just re-MOT'd mine on Friday. it was valied until September but I wanted a Spring MOT socomes out of hibernation and then its out of the way for the whole year

House tasks meant the M didn't go out this weekend, but on the plus side it is still clean :D

Trying to decide on CSLs or getting the mini to c290bhp, neither of which are needed

Still amazed how many noises the engine made on the way from the MOT station - am sure they're normal, but vs a normal modern car I was reminded that they are noticeable.

Good call Number5, 6 monthly for piece of mind
