MOT Failed - Car Horn not working

Hi Everyone,

My 2008 Carbon Black BMW Z4 Sport 3.0si Coupe (E86, 58 Reg) failed its MOT today due to a non-functioning horn. I'll be getting it looked at this Thursday, but I wanted to reach out to the forum in case I need to replace the horn(s).

Does anyone happen to have a spare set of horns for this model that they'd be willing to sell?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Best Regards,

I think you will need first to test if power is reaching the horn . It could be the mechanism behind the steering wheel that needs changing or perhaps just a blown fuse.

What usually happens is people don't know, or forget, that they have two horns. So one dies and the other covers for it. Then that one eventually dies too and that's that.
[ref]Mike6[/ref], I get what you are saying, but for the cost of a decent secondhand horn or two, it is just as easy to plug a new one in and see if it works.

I had to be a bit persuasive to get the horns to work, started with one and eventually the second came to live.

Need to drive more like an Italian now to keep them working
