MOT due end June - Service interval is 4,000 miles

Thought I would chuck a few questions out there....

1. My MOT is due before the end of June. Last time I went within 30 days of expiry, and they kept the same expiry date. Can you still do this?

2. My next service isnt due for another 4,000-5,000 miles (can't remember exactly). However, it's a 200 mile round trip to a decent indy - B for BMW in Clydebank. I was thinking about getting them to do a service with the MOT to avoid a repeat trip. Is this ok, or am I best to wait? I reckon there's no harm in servicing it early? :?

3. Anyone have any dealings with a BMW indy closer to Dundee than Glasgow? :D John Clarks are the nearest dealer, but they always charge me around £700 on each visit. Not keen to go back, its MOT time and they'll probably target £1,400

Thoughts please?

Thanks

1. Yes you can still do this :)

2. I guess it depends on how soon you are likely to cover those sort of miles? But if it's pretty quick I can't see as it would hurt to have it done early

3. Sorry, can't help with this one

Why nit get you mot done somewhere that just do mot's as they have no interest in finding fault and then get the service done when due.

Good shout mate. Only thing is, if any work is needed, I don't trust a local MOT only garage to do it...
