Morning all - Roof motor issues. Stuck down & won't budge.

So my 07 roadster's roof opened fine yesterday but then would not return to the closed position. Having looked at the manual & other posts, it seems that it's just a case of pulling the red handle in the boot out around 1cm (doesn't come out any further) and twisting.

I have done this a couple of times and then pressed the 'roof close' button in the centre console. I then hear a little noise for about a second and then nothing (have also tried this step before pulling the red handle).

The issue is that when I grab the frame to try and close it, I can pull it up a few centimeters before I meet tough resistance and the roof will budge no more. I let go and the roof returns to the fully open position. I feel that if I push it even harder (I've pushed it very hard already) then it may bend the frame or do some irreparable damage.

Any idea on what I am doing wrong here? I'm a pretty strong guy and even though the handle is pulled out, that roof is not budging. Appreciate any insight you all can provide.

OK - I got it up in the end. For anyone else in a similar position, you might need to pull the Bowden Cable (thing with red handle on top side of boot) many times (I did it 15-20 times in quick succession). I did it until one time I heard a different click and then this allowed the roof to move pretty effortlessly.
