Morgan Plus 6 and M40i

Went on a factory visit to Morgan in Malvern the other week (absolutely fascinating and would highly recommend anyone to go). Was staggered to find out that the Morgan Plus 6 uses the B58 engine and ZF gearbox that is used in the M40i !! Can’t imagine how quick a Morgan would be with that engine as there’s no weight to them - apparently they won’t deliver one without putting the new owner on a test track with one of their experienced drivers first.

The ZF Gearknob just looks so wrong in the Morgan though!

Tiff Needell tested it, the Z4 and the Supra in a program called Lovecars a few months back.

The end decision was the M40i was the best all rounder :driving:

Never liked Tiff. :P

Besides, bet he tested the G29 and not the 35is? Would explain the result. :poke:

I don’t like him either

I’m glad you’re coming round Nanu. You are 100% correct the winning result was the Z4 because it was the G29 and not the 35iS :poke:

Found it on ITV hub eventually! A good watch.

Morgans look great but somehow the idea of a fabric roof with poppers doesn’t sit too well with me these days!!

If you want "modern" you won't be looking at a Morgan!

Is not the whole point of a Morgan that they are "old fashioned"? :D

Absolutely - I’m too fond of frills such as electric folding roof and bootspace
