MORE Z4M CSL Wheel Questions :)

I actually want Morr VS8s...but parking in London with those would be asking for trouble. So CSLs it is. However, ideally I would like to stick with 18"s. I had 19"s on my M3 but don't think the Z4M needs it. Of course that means replicas, which I don't mind as long as the quality isn't complete tat and they don't way a metric ton each. Does anyone have 18" replicas? Pics? Recommended source?

Thanks in advance...

Only thing that would get me is having non-original wheels on a £40k plus car.

Seems a bit mad.

Each to their own though.

I love my 19's. Looks brilliant. Not sure the 18 replica's would look as good (IMHO)

Depends what you mean by 'non original'; BMW don't make wheels, they come from various external suppliers (BBS for example). As said as long as the quality is ok I don't mind. I may still go with OEM 19"s but I like the ride on the 18"s so checking my options....and of course I cannot get an OEM 18" CSL wheel.

Probably stating the obvious here, but do a search on eBay for:
18" CSL

I can confirm that the ride does suffer a bit with 19"s on, so maybe 18"s are a nice idea to get most of the CSL look without loosing the car's comfort.

Mean non-BMW originally supplied wheels, but as you say, they're made by other parties.

I've not found any issues with the ride on my 19's but I came from my previous Z with 18" RFT's and prior to that, a TT roadster, lowered with 18's so the ride of my last two cars has probably not been the best.

I am sure Iain over on BM3W fitted CSL rep's to his Z4M and as far as I know has had no problems.

I know these guys stock them, link below:

Mmmm.

Whilst they look OK (no offence marriedblonde), they don't look right/as good as the 19's.

Again though, all down to personal opinion

Ah, I know Marriedblonde from another forum. Thanks guys.

Yeah based on those pics, they don't have the same 'rightness' of the 19"s, I agree. Will have a rethink

At least you boys are in the right boat with having the M!

I bought my 3L Sport Coupe last week and the first (and only) mod i wanted to do was to exchange my 108's for a set of OEM CSL's (of course in 19"). Have since however found out the offset of the rear axel means the OEM CLS's wont fit - D'oh!

Having seen that link of the 3.0 in 18 CSL reps, i'm a little dissapointed. I know the 19's may look better, but going by the pics on here the OEM's have the edge. Starting to wonder now perhaps if i should have bitten the bullet and purchased the M!??

Don't worry mate

The 19 reps should be fine. I used to have 18" rep RS4's on my TT (OEM were 18's) and you couldn't really tell the difference

Cheers Senwar... I would really like to find a pic of a 3l coupe with 19" CSL reps to see what they look like!

Failing that i may have a look at some other options. Just want to get her looking a tad more aggressive and think the 108's though nice, don't give it that edge.

See its your signature that makes me green with envy! :D

Cheers
