Well I can't get this damn thing to work
Sent it back to the manufacturer Mods4cars, have to say he was very helpful

He said

"The disappointing part is that I couldn't find any problem with the module or the wiring adapter. So I went ahead and replaced both for brand new ones. Let's see if this fixed the issue. "

Received it today, plugged it in, still getting solid green light.
Roof works fine without module
I have now enclosed some photos to prove I am securely plugging it in :-)

The only features that work are the door mirrors folding and one touch up and down on windows

Looks the same as my setup ; http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=46986&hilit=smarttop&start=102

So not sure what's going on with your car. Shame you're not closer or I'd lend a hand.

Thanks for the offer Maniac
But with help from Steffan at Mods4cars we have solved the problem. Basically the black plastic casing around the plug which goes into the socket was too big so the pins were not connecting properly. Steffan suggested removing the casing of the plug which I did and the module now works. Steffan is left perplexed as the plug casing is a genuine bmw part so should fit ok...

I've only just seen this post but glad you got it sorted.
Pin connectivity really is crucial but getting those pesky plugs and housings correctly seated can be a nightmare!
Mine worked first time on the "dry" run but failed when I put it all back together :headbang:
The stiffness of the looms and confined space do make installation a bit fraut.
