More evidence of damage done by fake M badges

I was moving out of a parking space the other day (reversing no less with exhausts in full view) and someone waiting (in a very old Megane no less), shouted at me as I left "you've put M badges on it.. thats sad!!"

Did he not see the four exhausts or other tell tale signs? Did it not occur to him that even though he was an ignorant f**k and knows nothing about cars, an M version of the Z4 might exist and this might be a genuine one? Very annoying to say the least. Why can't people just mind their own business..

More evidence that fake M badges on non M cars are causing damage to the kudos of real M cars!!

What a tw4t!  Anyone who knows anything about M cars, should at least be able to know when a car is genuine.

Reminds me - I saw a very pretty white Z4 coupe the other day (nice and clean, unlike mine at the time). But it was covered in M badges - why? Interestingly they were all-silver rather than coloured (like the pic). The reg started "S555" if the owner's a member here and fancies explaining!

It is getting more confusing now with lots of new cars in the show room now having M badges on the rear as well , that includes the 1 series as well.

There's nothing wrong with those badges (on a real M car) - i've got them on mine! :D

saw a silver Z4 in Widnes the other day with an fake 'M power' badge on the boot!!!! A fake fake!

Certainly not; I thought they looked really quite smart. As did the car which was a good-looking white coupe. It just seemed a bit silly having the M badges. 1 on the boot, 1 each by the indicators. None on the wheels which were standard non-M I think, and didn't get close enough to see the inside.

Out of interest - how did you get them on yours? I quite fancy them if they're easy to change.

Totally agree. The black/carbon badges only suit black, white, grey or silver I think.

I got a full set of badges from a guy on ebay, the ///M badges are the easiest to remove and fit, just held on with double sided tape.

I posted up some new photo's yesterday here..... http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=12831

If he was going slow enough i'd ask him "Does this sound fake to you?" and give it some revs. Although i have a feeling i'd only end up getting the finger.

What an unknowledgable idiot

Did you say anything back? I wouldn't have been able to keep my mouth shut.

I would totally kick his ass for that :D On the other hand he is driving an old piece of s**t, no point argueing with and owner of a car which cost the same as your tires :D

I got overtaken (I wasn't in my z4!) by a black facelift Z4 on Saturday - exhausts at one side, M-badge on the other...

If you ain't got an M (like me) then gonnae no dae that

I saw a blue 3.0si Z4 coupe with an ///M badge when out cycling a few weeks ago, sad bugger especially when on a 2008 plate they could have bought an M for similar money :D

I'm buying some 2.2i badges for the sides of mine. Nothing like a little bit of reverse phsycology.
