Monthly photo poll

I've previously asked for a poll that could be blinded (i.e. nobody except the admin would know the results). That way there won't be any influence towards voting patterns when people see the stats. At the end of the month, the winner would be announced and then all would be well. But apparently the forum programming isn't capable of doing this. 
We really should find a way to blind the votes. I think it would make the competition even more exciting than it already is.

agree - anything where the interim results can be seen cannot be healthy. Sure it's a low key friendly competition but in time someone will get nasty with someone about a result.
Sure... if someone can find me a phpbb addin to do this I will happily implement it. I have been holding off for the gold version (which is out now, we will be upgrading soon). The reason I have been holding off is it's very bad news to put addins on a non gold release as they usually break when you upgrade (this is gonna happen when we upgrade, i'm sure).
I don't see the point of blinding it. Do people really vote on photos based on who has received the most votes so far? I just look through the photos and decide which one I like the most and then vote for it. In fact, the one I like most usually is not in the lead.
There is no 'correct answer' for these votes, so there's no real need for blinding. If someone is mindless enough to choose a photo just because it has the most votes, then I wouldn't want their vote anyways!
The only place where it might come into play is if someone is truly torn between two photos and can't decide. Then they may decide to vote for the one with more votes or the one with less votes. I don't think that happens too often.
