Modding to suit character

Last night I stumbled across this thread and found it quite interesting http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=36194&hilit=turbines

I have/do modify all my cars to some extent but it's usually quite subtle as it seems is the case with most going by that thread. However, I'm just wondering what peoples thoughts are on modding in a way that is sympathetic to the car as well as your own preferences. For example, initially I had in my mind that I would be going down the route of carbon interior, alcantara steering wheel and gear gator etc, kind of a CSL type look but without the crazy seats. However, after getting to know the car a little I don't feel that style suits the cars character. Maybe on an ///M but the normal car just has a more civilised "smell of leather" character I feel.

What are your own views? Not on the route I should take but how do you see the character of your car?

PS pics always help

i always wanted to have a fast car and turn it into a supercar baiter.... but do it respectfully to the car and do the mods to an oem standard, this is the first car (z4m) ive really stuck to my wishes and built something rather cool imo...

what car do you have an what are you thinking in terms of direction?? performance or style??? or even both??

Added the car to my sig now. Should have done it before now along with the obligatory photos and introduction in the newbie section.
