Mobile phone connection

Did you know that on the E85 you can connect the telephone via bluetooth? Yes of course you did, but if you do not have the code, then forget it.

So to listen to my music I bought a cable and plugged it in via the aux socket and it works a treat. However, the other day, my phone rang and I took the call via the cars handsfree set up. I didn't know that it would work like that, but it did. It felt like a little treat, a nice surprise and it made my day.

The code is on the side of the ULF module in the boot on the rear firewall behind the carpet

Also many diagnostics tools can read the code or BMW tell you what it is.

Are you sure it used the car's hands free set up?

Most phones will allow the call output to go via the aux to your car speakers and then use the phone's built-in mic as the mic (rather than the car's mic).

I can not be sure which mic it used. But thinking about it, maybe it was the phones mic, that would make sense wouldn't it. D'oh
