I know you lot are phone experts so I'm looking for a little guidance

I'm happy with my ipone 5s and don't want to change it. I've used it with my go pro and quadcopter camera apps and it's not so good as the screen is a little small and the flip case makes gripping the phone awkward.

So I've bought a galaxy tab 3 which is too big!

I'm now thinking of a used phone on a pay as you go contract or no contract at all but that's light with a big screen, ideally about 5 inches. Needs to be android for the apps and cost around £50 used. Not interested in using it as a phone. Any suggestions?

As an odd alternative I've got loads of tesco vouchers and I could use them on a new phone specifically for this job but that seems a bit of a waste of vouchers!

Cheers

How about the Google Nexus 5. Light, great screen (4.9" screen I think), not too dear. Got loads of them at work. Used only now, plenty about.

£50 gets you a broken nexus 5 according to ebay... :/

Must be me (age thing)! You are looking for a phone but you are not interested in using it as a phone.

Yep!

Need it to run android apps for go pro and quadcopter cam, 7 inch tablet too big and iPhone 5 a bit too small

Call it a mini computer if it helps :P

I think £50 for a 5" or so phone maybe a bit of a stretch.

The older nexus 4.. has a 4.7" screen and sure they can be had second hand for just shy of £100 on the likes of eBay.

A random one.. which as you mentioned Tesco.. you can get a 7" Tesco Hudl for about £60 second hand... but they only have wifi.

Doh. Didn't read it properly and missed the £50 bit  My bad.

Don't want a hudl, I've a 7 inch Galaxy tab which is too big. Looking for about a 4.5-5 inch screen ideally

Cheers

There are some unbranded unlocked Android phones with 5" screen, on eBay new for around the £60 mark...

Not that I have any knowledge of them but for example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SWEES-5-0-Dual-Core-Android-4-2-Mobile-Phone-Smartphone-Unlocked-Touch-4-1-GPS-/231099914083

thanks all

ended up using some Tesco vouchers (£60 made into £120 via current promo) and bought HTC 150 or something . works a treat and has a good size screen, lightweight and reasonably quick. Perfect for my needs

cheers
