Missing power socket?

Had my E89 Sept 2012 Z4 M 28i for just over a year now. Never had need to venture into the glovebox other than place wallet in and out occasionally.

According to the manual I am supposed to have a power socket under the glovebox which I now would have a use for. Had a brief look today and couldn't locate one. There appears to be a circular hole about the right diameter on the RHS underneath but appears to be empty and rather deep.

Should I have one and is this it? Perhaps I am expecting something like a cigarette lighter socket and it isn't like that?

Any ideas or confirmation this is it gratefully received. Apologies in advance if this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything directly related.

There will be a USB socket in there if you have the iDrive system, cannot recollect there being a power socket (like cig lighter).

There is a hole for a power socket, i just bought socket and fitted it via a fuse to battery +/_.
But see no mention of it in the handbooks.

In my manual:
"P112 In the footwell, passenger side. A socket is situated on the left under the glovebox."

This must be for a LHD Z4 as the hole is on the right of the passenger footwell.

Thanks for confirming then that there is no power socket just a hole for one.
