A couple of weeks ago the Service Engine Soon light came on out of nowhere. It coded that cylinders 1,3,5 ignition coils misfires. So I chose to replace all coils and plugs. Despite that the Service Engine Soon light continued to remain lit for a couple of days despite not giving any further codes. Then this morning when I started the car Service Engine Soon light came back on.
This afternoon Martin check for codes for me and at first it said “ignition coils misfire 1, 2, 4 & 5” Martin went outside and checked to make sure all were locked into place and they were. When we went back in to print code results the results changed to “Randon Misfire Detected” and listed Secondary DTC’s as seen on attached photo.
Anyone have any suggestions? We do not have a BMW dealer for more than 155 miles and the one known shop that works on BMWs is less than reputable takes your car for days before getting to it.
