Mirrors auto fold out when driving.

I didn't know this but when I was in the lakes over the weekend I tried to fold my mirrors in on a narrow road and they refused to fold in until I dropped below a certain speed. When I went above this speed they folded out again on their own.

I wonder what other stuff this car does that I don't know about (having just had a play with the electric side bolster switch mentioned in another thread that I also didn't know about)?

It's normal....mine does the same.

If you have idrive, you can watch films when the car is stationary....

On the subject of mirrors folding, says something in the blurb about the interior mirror folding but not sure what thats all about ??

Not on my Z4 they don't I have the extra brake lights which illuminate under abs

Tapatalking on my iPhone.......

Mentioned before, but Satnav also shows the weather forecast on maps when zoomed out and shows historic buildings etc football ground and cities in amazing 3d detailed render.

- Drove past Worcester cathedral last week and at 25m zoom it looks super on screen. (no need to look at it out the window

That's right, the 3D images onto come into effect when you drive closer to a major city...

Also on DVD there is a wide screen option too....

Another thing, if you're not too bad looking, the girls always like to have a second look...funny they don't mention this in the brochure!!

And in relation to Sars and Carol, the married men like to have a second look 8)

I don't know if my new one has electric folding mirrors! Something else to worry about now :(

I dont know which "Package" they come with, they may even be standard kit.

Not standard but do come with the comfort pack. Neat feature. They move out at 40 kph; I.e. the max speed you can put the roof up. Well for those built from Apr 12 onwards.

Thanks, that's another worry/I wonder if it has that - off the list!
I've just checked and it does have the comfort package specified.

What are you worried about? I haven't had any issues with my E89.

I've bought it sight unseen!

Albeit from a BMW dealer so I really have nothing to worry about. Its just in my nature to worry.
The car is a Dec 10 with 5k on the clock and has the balance of the manufactures warranty.

I keep looking at the internet page and the spec and wondering if it has and does all the tricks. Come Wednesday or Thursday I will find out!

the falshing hazard is a really good & useful feature IMO but is also a variation on a theme ?
6/7 series from 2004 had a dual zone rear light cluster with "extra" brake lights that illuminated under heavy/ABS braking

On the E89 the brake lights flash under heavy breaking but under really heavy braking the hazards come on as well.
I've been there
You need to manually put off the hazards pressing the button on the dash

Of course when playing those hazards have come on a few times, without my noticing until I realise the wierd looks I am getting.

Its those occassions with not much about and I start wondering, just how quickly does this brake then...
