mini aux diy and cigarette lighter port problem

I have a 2003 3.0 z4 with navigation and Bluetooth. I recently did an aux day with the cable from mini. I cannot charge my phone through the cigarette lighter and play through my aux at the same time. I can only either play music through the aux or charge my phone. Is there a way to get them both to work together at the same time?
