#69 is spending a few days at the stealers while I am out of the country for a little light warranty work

I get a call from them on Friday "Hello Mr Truman, we noticed that your air conditioning service and brake fluid change is due, would you like them done while the car is in?" another £160 down. At least that includes the 4+ discount.

I can't really complain, they're doing their job, and they've been a great dealer to work with in the past but I think I'm going to mod myself to put in a keypad and money dispenser so the dealer can join the kids in treating me as a walking cash machine!

I stopped going to the stealers. Regardless of the work done the bill was always £700 :headbang:

Yep, I remember having that conversation with you on another thread. I'll be interested to see what they say. I shall talk to them about the groaning steering as well as the sticky steering they are going to look at. Also the PDC is messing about

Worth pursuing warranty repairs from them. Mine goes in for its MOT this week at a new Indy I've found. Should be interesting...

I spent a cool grand on a warranty in an "Andysat" moment of worry. I'm now glad I did. I'm thinking that a steering column, PDC repair and labour is probably going to cover my costs. Interestingly when I finally got DIS and INPA running, it showed up "noisy steering" I wonder how it tells? Damned clever electrickery
 
For something like an air conditioning service I wouldn't use a dealer, try a an air con specialist, will be half the price
 
To be honest, time is precious and it means one trip rather than two. Also they are building several warranty claims into one so I only pay one £100 excess. That in itself more than covers the air con service.
 
I think that an air conditioning service - done right, with filter changes, re-gas, lube etc. - and a brake fluid change for £160 sounds reasonable... Or is it not ? Does hat include the dreaded 20% toss to the tax man ?
 
I think she said the costs were all in. The brake fluid was about £90 IIRC.

To be honest, while I'm not going to throw money around, I bought #69 as a keeper and don't have a problem spending on her. One of four from a total run of 169 isn't a unicorn, but not far off :)

Intravee next, then I'm not sure what. Can't think of anything I'd really want to do other than a possible LSD after Wobblewing put it in my head.
