So Mike had an opportunity to go fly fishing and Wed was the only still day. . . . well that was his excuse anyway
The hardened enthusiasts regrouped however and remained determined to get out and make the most of the promised weather
and so we found ourselves at Tescos and I have to say - absolutely love the new wheels Craig! Don't understand the worry about them being chavish at all. They look far better 'in the flesh' than they do on photo and really fit the black bodywork. I think they look extremely classy and expensive - like something special found on a Lambo or Maserati. Together with the reduced graphics on the wind defender and the new all black grills your Zed is looking brilliant!
We headed out to the Northumberland coast as the cloud cover looked quite heavy inland - it turned out to be a good decision. I took Craig to Northumberlandia to show him the location of the largest land structure/sculpture of the Lady of the North - worth a visit and then on to the best coastal location for Fish and Chips in Blyth (another place worthy of a visit).
From there we shot up back roads and part of the A1 to a photo opportunity at Eshott Hall. . .

Always loved the roads to Warkworth and we were lucky to get one or two sections traffic free as we headed further north.

After further clear and twisty back roads we returned to the coastal route and found a spot to pull over on the approach to Alnmouth. The skies cleared and the sun came out - it was chilly but the heat of the sun could be felt and the view is always glorious

There are quieter parts of the coast and neither of us had called at this carpark before. . .it was at this point I remembered I'd never fitted my side panels on the roof so on they went.

We parked up at Seahouses and couldn't resist Fish and Chips - not a bad location for lunch sat overlooking the harbour and the Farnes. . . check out the starlings waiting for the remains of lunch.

Returning south we used the Coastal Route (with a few extra back lanes and connections) back to the A1 and seeing some activity at Eshott airfield, I took Craig to the end of the runway for some close up action. . . (see the club house in the background)

It was getting on and so, reluctantly, we headed home having had another wonderful day - not quite our usual routes but still a great way to spend the day!
Cheers Craig
