Mid price tyres for a daily driver (non Z4)

My recent MOT has given an advisory on my daily driver Polo 1.4 TDI's front tyres & I'm realising that my usual choice of budget tyres are perhaps a false economy.

Tyre size is 205/45-16, for years I had directional tyres that made the car sound like a wheel bearing had gone, this droning noise went away as soon as I fitted asymmetrical tyres so I'd like to avoid directional tyres if possible.

So lovely Z4 peeps, what's your tyre brand of choice for your eurobox daily?

I fitted toyo proxy's to my sons polo. Great tyres. Have the wheels & tyres for sale if your interested ? 6/7mm on all tyres & wheels are spotless

Kumho, Falken, Toyo, Nexen & Hancocks are all pretty good midrange tyres. Sometime the price difference between midrange tyres and premium tyres is negotable though so check that too.

Uniroyal Rainsport 3's. It's my goto tyre for the daily. Have used them on multiple cars, Celica, Alfa GT, 320d and just can't fault them. They really come into their own when it's wet, haven't had a tyre that inspires that much confidence before in the wet.
