Michelin PSS pricing - recent purchases?

...not another PSS thread :)

So looking to price a set of pss 225/45/18 and 265/40/18, my local tyre indie quoting £780 supplied and fitted, which I think is pretty good.

Anyone purchased pss recently? What prices paid?
Thinking of buying now before the summer demand picks up, I think they get scarce pretty quickly...

Sounds pretty good, Oponeo supply for about £680, which is the cheapest I've found. £780 is not a million miles away away including fitting

I have just bought ps3 in 255/35/18 and 225/40/18 the standard size on my 3.0 si.
As I only looked at these sizes I didn't realize that the ss is a different tyre.
Is the ss a softer more sporty tyre??
I have just got the x4 ps3 bought and fitted for £545.

Thought the price was a little high going on what I was quoted from Lovetyres 2 weeks ago. Quote was coming up at around £640 fitted at their place in Hayes, near Heathrow.

Just checked their current prices and rears are now about £205 each (strange, as my invoice from 2 weeks ago says £342.16 inc VAT & fitting), fronts are £160 each - so would be about £730 just for the tyres.

Camskill are now cheaper at £191 for rears and £152 for fronts - or about £686 for the set, plus £12 delivery, plus local fitting - so you're still looking at £750-ish.

Don't forget the OEM size 255/40r18 is now available at a similar price to the 265/40r18 - if you want to keep OEM sizes.

The PS3 is the replacement for the 'touring' Pilot Sport Exalto - the PS3 name is obviously been used simply to confuse people who used to have PS2s into buying the 'next model up' :headbang:

There is nothing wrong with the PS3, it's just not up there with the PSS, ContiSportContact 5, Goodyear F1A 2.

The PSS is the replacement for the Pilot Sport 2.

The PSS is a harder-wearing yet stickier version of the PS2, and builds on their experience with the Pilot Sport Cup track tyre.

Cheers guys, camskill are already out of 225/45/18, so have just gone with my Indy £770 all in, but I reckon with the mileage I'm doing should get 3yrs out them easy. Roll on Saturday :)

Just had a pair of PSS 265/30/19 put on the rear for £480.

I'd like to have a car in the future with 300wide rears, but I think that would make me cringe at tyre prices :(

Cheers Steven, although once you add in postage, and then a charge from a fitter - since they're not making anything from the tyre sale they would charge more for fitting so total would be a little more.
It's ok if you can fit yourself or have someone that can do it for a favour, but I'm not that lucky

But all in all I'm old fashioned and prefer someone that will supply and fit that I can doorstep if I have any issues, so don't mind paying a little extra for that :)

That's a good price, too late for me, but for others what did you pay for postage and fitting?

delivery was free or included.

Fitting will be a local chap in my small town/large village, I would recon on £50for cash

That's a good deal mate, btw see you went for oem rear size, others will be keen to hear feedback on those

Well I am pretty sure I will report that they are exceptional over the existing 3+y very worn conti sport 3's that currently adorn the car. :D :D :D
Going to set pressures at 31 to 29 as a starting point and see how we go.
