MFSW retro fit help!

Should bolt straight in with no wiring loom adjustments needed. I fitted mine this week and I have a July 2003 car which I did need to fit the extra couple of wires to.

Easy way to tell -

Battery disconnected and leave for 20mins to be safe
remove the bottom half of the steering cowl and remove the green plug at the top
If the green plug has a cable in pin 9 and a cable in pin 10 (that row will basically have 2 cables at one end and 2 at the other) you're all good. If no cables in pin 9 and 10 then you need to fit them.
Plug back in
Reconnect battery and assemble

It's the same procedure whether for an ///M SW or not, what itguy above is describing re the green plug can be seen quite clearly in 'Pic9' , if you don't have the 2 wire loom then it's around £20-£22 from a dealer.

So if mines a 2005 i wont have to fannt around with all that re-wiring just remove wheel and bolt on the new MFSW parts and plug the wire into the plug on step 9?

Jonny, the only was is to check the green plug & then you'll know for sure, It's a minor faff to fit the loom, allow 3 hours start to finish, that is not rushing & includes waiting 30 mins for the airbag electronics to discharge, try & avoid the Scotchlocks (supplied with the loom) & take a note of how I spliced into the existing wires & used heatshrink sleeving as I've shown later on in the linked thread above- your OCD will prefer this method

Tonyp is correct, only way to know for sure is to check for plugs. However, the majority of cars built pre oct 2004 have plug and play. After that, you need to wire in. I say the majority as even though my car was built sept 2004, I didn't have plug and play for mfsw nor for cruise control when I fitted them. Someone suggested some cars may have slipped through during the build changeover phase. Also it's important to rely upon your build date and not when your car was registered for these type of things.

Just remove the lower SW cowl, you can see the green plug to determine whether the extra retrofit loom is required or not, I'm pretty sure that you will as I thought it was 2004's & older that were pre-wired for MFSW.
