Metallic rubbing noise

The rear passenger side of my car has started to make a repeating SHHH noise related to wheel speed. It gets worse when turning right and I can silence it when turning left.

Is this brakes which have recently been changed or is it likely to be diff related?

I've got a 120 mile drive home tomorrow :-/

Its usually the last thing that has been touched e.g the brakes.
Check every thing is tightened up...... could be just pads bedding in. It could be lots of things but I would start with the brakes. Really need more data

It could be the brake disc backplate. The rust causes it to expand and rub the disc.
This happened on my 525.

If the noise changes during directional change then it's very likely to be related to the new brakes that have been fitted and the (allowable) movement of the wheel bearing, the movement may be excessive but this should have been noticed during the change of brakes, however i would recommend getting the wheel bearing checked with the axle unloaded.

Not something that would represent a major issue unless you hear a change of noise. Even a failed wheel bearing would just result in more noise and uneven ride before any catastrophic events occur.
