Metalized spinning noise

I've noticed over the past couple of weeks whilst crawling along in rush hour traffic that I'm getting a metalized spinning/whirring noise! It's only really noticeable when you are tickling the throttle and stops when you take your foot off!
It's definitely not a turbo whistle.
Anyone else have the same noise on theirs?

Yepp, this was discussed a while back, some 12 months ago and the conclusion was its normal, its like slight whirring sound through the airvents although not the fan, annoying at first but I never hear it now.

I reckon this is a side effect of the electronic engine sound generator...

Cheers Tim, mine is the same as Kevin and Carol describe.....only happens when I tickle the accelerator and goes completely when I lift off :headbang:
Do you know if they still get it or managed to find out what it was?

I have a whirring sound which comes from the front dash even if all the air systems are turned off. I almost reversed into a post trying to listen to where it was coming from . I just figure it is part of the system and have got used to it now.
