Thinking of downsizing a little from a Sportage and was wondering if anyone has had one of these? Keen to know what the bootspace/access are like?

If its similar in size to the normal A class, then don't expect a huge boot  struggle to fit anything other than a pram in ours.

I personally love the shape of the cla shooting brake, think they look fantastic.

It's the looks that have dragged me in. Unfortunately nearest one is 40 miles away so I can't pop for a quick look.

Good says max 420L for the A class and 514 for the CLA so it's a fair bit bigger. My main concern is that the shape of the boot makes it not particularly usable

sorry, it doesnt compute to me... i think its a niche too far, a 4 door coupe cannot be combined with an estate! its the worst of both worlds, a coupe with a very un-coupe like roofline, and an estate with a with very un-estate like boot space.

from some angles it reminds me of a hearse!

Also slightly irks me that Mercedes have sullied the good name of a 'shooting brake' when it should actually be called a liftback. or just an estate. A shooting brake is this, a 2 door gt with a estate like boot...

Jmo but MB right now are producing great looking cars that feel good on the road but quality in both parts & build just isn't there if you compare to Bmw / VAG
Ok other manufacturers have their foibles & issues but at least their cars feel well built , also worth bearing in mind the Mercedes service schedule within warranty systematically abuses the owner with regard their A / B regime  like for like ownership / mileage with equivalent Bmw/Vag is way out more costly & its hard to ignore the residuals on Mercs don't appear as strong either .
Sold a C Class 6 months ago after 5 yrs ownership & my lad has just parted with a A45 AMG ( rejected back to dealer after just 3 months ) , neither of us will be going near the brand for quite some time :(
