The Discovery Forum has a member to member services page - Is there any reason why the Z4 Forum can't have one?
 
I've not encountered one but I'm guessing it's somewhere a member can post to other members, but that isn't accessible to visitors?

In the OPs case you can share your LR pain with others similarly afflicted, without the horror stories coming to the attention of potential future victims! :roll:

This is how the Moderator of the D3 Forum posted :-

This new forum area is designed to allow members to promote their non-D3 knowledge and/or services to other DISCO3 members.

This is an area where sole traders and small business owners can interact and other members can search for other DISCO3 members providing goods or services that fit their needs.

A donation to the site would be very welcome for any successful link ups

This area is not intended for promotion of commercial activities related to the Discovery 3 or 4/Land Rovers/off roading etc which must be covered by a sponsorship agreement
