Meet "Barry"

All great, good car, great colour.

Shame it's a tin top, roadsters rule :)

But............ Barry? Eh :?

Surely the car is a she? No :?

Love the car, but really - Barry after Barry Manilow? :| Surely if it's going to be Barry, there could have been a much cooler Barry to be named after? Barry White? Barry Sheene? Barry....more? Ok, maybe not the last one! :D

Been neglecting the 5 so gave it a quick clean today, then had to swap them about on the drive so ended up together out on the road.... well it would have been rude not to take a quick snap of them

{"]Ok sorry about the name, but my GF insists on giving the cars names and as much as I resist eventually the 'name' catches on and I find myself using it. Its Barry BMW, as in its got a massive nose like Barry Manilow

So having had the car for nearly a week I finally got around to taking pictures. I did have a good excuse though - after a few hours of picking it up a lapse in judgement occured where I must have rest my hand on the Traction Control button :P Anyway its been say on my drive with one wheel jacked up and removed waiting for a replacement. Well fitted the replacement today then promptly drove to my friends and fitted my Eibachs. So these are a few pictures from my phone. Light was a bit low so not great quality :|

My next plans are to fit some 12/15mm spacers, I think this will bring the wheels in line with the bodywork much better. Then I'll make my mind up 100% if I want to go with the 19's sooner rather than later. Then there's the side skirts ..... Not so 'essential' on the black imo, but would definitely like them. Then I want black badges and possibly de-chrome the grill. That will be the visuals sorted..... well maybe a 30% tint on the front windows to make the contrast with the quarters and rear glass a little less extreme.

(where is your front plate though ?)

Oops, where'd that go? :P

See, that's just going to wind me up now M@r]{ - can't be photoshopped out, what would be the point as the rear is on the pics ? So, is it in the boot for aesthetic reasons, as it will just have 'recently fallen off and is awaiting reapplication' if the plod stop you ?

Yep, it fell off and is stored down the side of the seat for prompt chucking in windscreen :) I much prefer the clean look of the front without it

Bet it helps with specs cameras too ... Oops, did I just say that ! :P

You know, I really do believe I'm one of the safer drivers going through Specs, because I'm keeping my eye on the road a lot more than all those drivers costantly looking at their speedos in case they do 2mph over

On a serious one, I'm not one to drive like a tw@t through restricted zones, roadworks, built up areas, 30, 40 and 50 zones. Don't see the point. Go 5mph above the limit and you risk getting points, fines etc and gaining mere seconds on your journey time. The speed you'd have to go to make a difference you'd be a prize tw@t doing that in built up areas. Over twenty years of driving I've never had a single point on my license 8) However, if you put a National Speed limit sign in front of me though........ :driving:

Agreed, I wasn't advocating driving at ridiculous speeds through restricted zones

A traffic officer once told me that even if you consistently exceed the speed limit as high as 95mph on motorways, on avage you still only get there between 4 and 7 mins faster.

So what's the 5 called? I also have a 5 but it sits on the drive a lot since I got the zed. Also given people on here are often addressed by their forum name what do we call you? How about Marl??
