I think the unexpected result was due to the driver - the Ex-Stig.

Proof if proof were needed that, if you can drive well, then you are better off without all the driver aids & mamby pamy stuff when your out on track. I suspect on a wet autum lane the Fezza would not be quite so far ahead. Or it may be tucked up in bed for the winter.

Well interestingly I watched Fifth Gear last night where they back to backed the McLaren against the Ferrari 458 Italia.

Both Plato and Needell slated the McLaren roundly. Apparently nowhere near as much fun as the Ferrari and a lot less controllable. Even with TC switched off the Mclaren was trying to overrule the driver too much.

They both seemed genuinely disappointed at the outcome having agreed it was a stunning looking car.....

I think the test is watchable here...
