May sell the car (35iS) ... ideas?

Hi all,

Never thought I would say this, but an opportunity has arose and I may sell the car to realise it.

Thought I would keep it forever, but I can always buy another one in a couple of years.

Is anyone in the market for a 35iS, 36k miles, loved like a dog?

I'd rather not use my working capital, hence testing the waters to see what the market is like currently. I guess with Brexit and it being winter the demand for 2 seaters will be pretty low.

Anyone sold their 35iS recently or someone interested in one?

It must be some hot replacement in line to rid your puppy Stuart, any hints to offer us?

Any ideas on price for yours or have you not got that far yet?

Buying a property abroad, so I need more than 30% deposit, plus taxes and fees. Can't have it all :(

I was wondering about price, since there aren't any for sale below 28k / 2013, difficult to say. Open to sensible offers. I could keep it, but it would mean more risk - I'm always pretty careful with investments

You must have spent a fortune on upgrades

I try not to think about it  but I wasn't planning to sell, however priorities change.

Any more thoughts on price etc, Stuart?

I bought one - Dec 2014 35iS - in the middle of November with just 4000 miles on the clock and as far as I remember paid around £29k if that gives you any sort of guide.

Sorry to hear this Stuart but congrats on the potential property purchase.

I keep a keen eye on prices to determine if I bought well pricewise last April (I didn't... AUC say no more) and personally I think yours is currently worth £18.5k privately. Maybe closer to £19.5- £20k if the sun is shining and you find a buyer who appreciates the stunning mods you have spent an considerable amount of money on plus condition of your protected paintwork etc. Hope this helps.

Edit: I don't know the year of yours but values above are based on 2010/2011.

Now they have stopped making them good ones will become increasingly hard to find especially the 35is.
I would hang onto it you won't loose anymore than you already have thats for sure. If your definitely intent on selling someone on the forum will surely snap it up.

Hopefully they do not drop much, but time will tell!

You'd have to pay £5k to change that interior though :p

and no sat nav is always a turn-off for most buyers

Hi John, it's worth a lot more to me than I would get for it. I think 19k is realistic, even though it has 5k+ spent on it, it doesn't have nav (which was my preferred option, as old iDrive's are a real turn off for me - like using an original iPhone!). When I see the price of new cars and what you get for that money, I do struggle to justify it. I spent more than 10k on a Doblo after all

It's cheap to tax, insure and although thirsty I don't use it enough to worry about fuel. Smiles per mile are off the charts, especially in this warm climate.

Things are still up in the air, but it's more than 50% likely I will be able to finance my deal without selling it - I've been working hard on alternative options  If that does happen then it's pretty secure with me for the next 5 years (the place has a very nice garage, plus two parking spaces) and will be treated to another round of upgrades to keep you entertained - at the moment it's completely standard in the engine department, next area of focus

I like it, the brown is very modern and the new 6 looks epic with that interior. I'd take it
