Maxtrek Winter Tyres - anyone know them?

I'm looking to get a set of Winter Tyres. Went to my local shop today and he recommended Maxtrek 225/40/18 all round for £460 (he will also store my other tyres). He mentioned these are made by Dunlop (not sure if that is true or not).

Has anyone heard of or used these, and if so, what is your opinion. Also, any thoughts on the Price?

Maxtrek are made by a Chinese tyre company called Sonny/Sunny Tire Company.

If your local shop says they're made by Dunlop, then they're lying, so do you really consider their recommendation trustworthy too?

At that price you might as well get a brand you've heard of, like Avon IceTouring, Hankook Icebear, Vredestein Quadtrac, etc.

I have Avons on mine - they look the part, and seem fine so far, but it's not exactly been arctic yet 8)
