Mass air flow problem.

It's drivable but the RPMS go revving and dropping while ideal-ing, and the engine just dies. Its rough hence the misfiring cylinder(s). I replaced the MAF sensor and hoped it was the culprit. I sprayed brake cleaner over the intake air lines to see if there was a leak in there: It checked out fine.
I'm now thinking it could be a dirty ideal control valve? I'm truly lost!

I'm open for suggestions for what my next move should be. I cant afford to take it to a shop, now that I'm unemployed-- and the car was no warranty.

P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected.
P0313 Misfire Detected with low fuel.
 
Have you checked the hose from air filter box to intake for cracks? You could take it off and twist to see in any cracks show up. Where did you get the mass? Some so called rebuilt ones or even aftermarket are junk out of the box. Cylinder 2 misfire could be coil pack or plug. Try unplugging mass and running engine the computer will have to use other inputs to make up for mass being unplugged. I have seen many mechanics unplug certain sensors to aid in diagnostics.
 
I just unplugging the MAF sensor and she ran perfectly fine! That rules out the ideal control valve.

It's an OMT sensor, do they have a bad reputation?

I'll take it all apart and check it for cracks this week.
 
Is the replacement maf an OEM spec if not the performance may not be to the same levels.

When the maf was replaced did you erase the codes .?
 
I have not cleared the codes, usually they clear themselves once I fix the problem, but if you believe that's part of the issue I can do that. I can't find anything saying this MAF is OEM :( if it's a bad one ill ship it back and get another one. It's brand new, not a rebuilt.
