Manual Release Latch Rattle

The small square plastic release button for a manual convertible top, on the center tower just above the storage compartment, has developed a squeak.

When I apply a little pressure on it with my hand the squeak stops.

Any ideas how to eliminate it? Thanks!

It's actually a brand new piece (about 4 months old). I found the previous one to be broken when I removed that piece for something else so I replaced it with a new one.

There is a spring behind that piece. Maybe some lubrication on that one. Once my satnav retrofit pictures come back - you can have a look at the spring I mean
