Major Service Jersey

I live in Jersey CI, had a quote today for a major service on a Z4M coupe 2007, 32k miles, the service included spark plugs, brake fluid, fuel filter change. the price is £1360.00 that would be a UK equivalent of £1600 with the tax difference. I was slightly taken aback, what does everyone think?

I think OMG, :o Was it at a Bentley dealership. That's a lot more than I have known anyone on here pay and I didn-t hear the gearbox oil, diff oil or valve shims mentioned. Which should all be done, if this is an inspection2, which it should be at that mileage. See if you can find someone else on the island.

You should be able to get it far cheaper at a indi, last time i payed just over £600 for an inspection 2, plugs and shims with proof.
If that price is from a Dealer, make sure shims are checked/rectified with proof.

Thanks, how often are the shims checked?
Shims should be checked at Ins1 and Ins2, so every major service. They may not need adjusting but ask for the measurements, so you or the next owner, can track any variation over time.

The Gearbox and rear diff oil should be changed the same time as the inspection2.

Get an early ferry and take it to Ross at RBM Hampshire. You can shop and spend the day seeing the sights and then catch a late ferry back. His prices are amazing compared to what you’re being quoted and you’ll not find anyone better in my opinion.

not if you want the shims done on a cold engine...would have to be an overnighter.
