Main dealers and display of forum sticker

My zed goes in for an mot on friday , the car will still be under warranty, hence, its going into the main dealer I bought the car from. Has anyone any experiance of the attitudes of main dealers with members of the forum. ie display of the z forum sticker .

Confused. What are you expecting them to do/say? It is your car and you're entitled to put whatever stickers you want on it

doubt they will even notice, my local dealer couldn't find the temperature fault I reported even though it was staring them in the face i.e. the gauge not working correctly. Had to go out with a tech senior yesterday who agreed with me less than 2 miles down the road :headbang:

Car has an unapproved BMW modification, so warranty will be void, that's what it says in the book....... :D

Having said that I phoned BMW extended warranty because of this generalisation in the book and the fitting of aftermarket alloys.
"I can confirm that further to our conversation although wheels and tyres are not covered under our policy, if they are fitted outside of BMW and have an affect on any other components on the vehicle, this could invalidate any future claims on that affected component."

So does that rule out suspension, steering, bearings, drive train etc etc? he couldn't answer that.

I am seriously thinking of cancelling my recently purchased extended warranty, in anticipation of turned down claims with BMW's increased 'get-outs' that I have read about recently. Seems they charge people for diagnosing what you have already said is the fault, then find a way to wriggle out of paying for the repairs.

At the very least have the drive-train warranty. In practise is depends on the dealer you use and how flexible they are with your mods.

I've found with (non bmw dealers) that being a member of a forum has generally helped rather than hindered in terms of service - it does business no harm if the dealer feedback section is full of nice comments about how good the service was etc.

I once took my car in with a couple of stickers, that did cause an eyebrow or two to raise! 8)

Did that guy want a Z8 so much that he went round local businesses to pay for advertising on one? Rather savvy if you ask me.
