MAGUIRES HOTSHINE TIRE TREATMENT NOT HAPPY

Turtle Wax tyre and bumper gel was recommended to me on the forum, no mess and it works

It struck me that we are discussing polishing our road tyres, I use 'product' on my tyres but not my hair, what does this say about us :)

Some interesting products there fellas.

I've found using the AG Vinyl & Rubber Care on it's own works for me.

I use a washing up sponge, but spray it on to the sponge first, rather than on the tyre. I then spread it out and buff with a clean cloth.

I find it gives the tyres a brand new look, (which I personally prefer) rather than the wet/shiny look of some of the other products.

Ultimately, it's a personal preference thing 8)

I use obsidian tyre coat..

Lasts for ages and has no fling..

A small bottle goes a long long way....

Oh yea, the megs hot shine is crap. Endurance gel is excellent though

It says we have got far too much spare time on our hands wasting our time doing this stupid constant car washing /detailing when you could be decorating or seeing the outlaws or doing useful DIY as my female neighbour AKA PAIN IN THE EFFING ARSE :poke: keeps saying to me ,well do you know what Luv ,Borrocks !!!, I'm not kidding about her either, she properly moans claiming she has a life , I think she fancies me really and wants to play with my Foam gun,

Took the Maguires Hotshine stuff back this morning ,swapped it for another large container of AG Shampoo instead which I know is V good stuff ,so now had the Maguires detailer FOC instead

Bloke on detailing world reckons AG RUBBER PLUS PRO CLEANER ,is basically the same stuff as the espuma RD50 , only problem it comes in a 5l can ,also AG don't do a consumer / Joe public version , ,maybe someone has done some small containerised versions I'm on the hunt , :headbang:

Managed to find a site on eBay that does AG Rubber plus pro cleaner in a 500 ml sealed metal container and free AG Trigger spray bottle for £3.49 + £2.99 postage seller is washnshine , so did the deed and ordered it :D , I'll let you all know how it goes when I get it , :driving:

Seriously good stuff. Perry brought a urine sample bottle that was about 3/4 full to Wales... I know, weird, but Mrs Gunn works in healthcare. After we cleaned our cars he managed to do both our cars' wheels with that tiny amount. I've been using a small tropicana orange juice bottle that he gave me on the Skye run at the end of August last year and it's only just running out now. I'll get one more use out of it I reckon.

You need to use a small sponge so you don't use too much - he used the sponge side of 1/3 of a Brillo pad from a tesco multipack that could just be thrown away after. He's full of great ideas

Brilliant idea that, Bing/Perry! I broke my sponge applicator after some over zealous application of the tyre gel  gonna go buy some cheap sponges now.

Meguiars endurance tyre gel is the one you want mate. Best tyre shine product i've ever used.

I've used this for years. the bottle I have now is half full and I've had it 3 years. If you use a foam applicator and after use just keep it in a little bag, after a while the product just builds up and you can do the tyres without applying new product. The foam applicator just retains the gel. Tyres shouldn't really 'Shine' as such and this gives a nice natural look, deep black but not over glossy.

I always when using any spray products apply to applicator rather than spraying and hope you have it pointing in the right direction.
+1 for the turtle wax!!!

Slaandjivaar.

Been using Meguiar's endurance high gloss tyre protection gel and Meguiar's Tyre Dressing Applicator Pad to apply it. When I did it yesterday I got loads of throw off after I then drove my car. Any tips on how to stop the gel throwing off the tyre after application?

The best product ive ever come across for tyres , under bonnet plastics ( wait until dry then buff off with dry cloth)
& diluted with some AG rubber & vinyl works a absolute treat on interior plastics/rubber .
One good application & the finish stays fresh for months on trim & outlasts any other tyre dressing ive tried

+1 for this stuff. I got some on Mr.Wilks advice and am well impressed, so much in fact i bought 4 more bottles of the stuff at a very discounted price. Used it on tyres, dash, under bonnet plastics, rubber seals on hood and doors......Cheers Mr.Wilks

Not really that much, issue I have is I stay in a flat and always wash my car at my parents. If 24 hours is the answer, obviously need to wait until I return home to put it on in future and leave it overnight.

You don't need to leave the tyre gel that long, just make sure there's none left wet on the surface of the tyre. It depends what finish you're going for, but I like the clean natural look rather than having it shine, which means wiping it off anyway. I put about a 10p sized blob on the applicator and really work it in, make sure it's in all the pattern on the side of the tyre, that should leave no pools anywhere, just a thin layer on the rubber. After a couple of minutes I use a microfibre cloth and wipe it down, which leaves the tyre looking just right IMO :)

Will give that go, cheers.
