Well, the anti-roll bars have just come back from powder coating... wasn't expecting them until Monday, so that's a bonus. So, as soon as the rest of the parts arrive from the ever helpful Jamie @ Soper BMW, the next project will be under way.

These are the roll bars from an E46 M3 and are much beefier than those on the Z4 - 26mm on the front and 21.5mm on the rear, as opposed to 25mm and 19mm on the Z4 M Sport or 24mm and 18mm on the standard 3.0i zed. Hopefully, that'll stiffen things up nicely.

Bringing this post back from dead.

Did anyone fit a set of M3 ARBs to their Z4? Were both the front and back a straight swap?

I have done the front one. Actually the one in the picture I brought the off Mrlozzer. Front one straight swap brilliant upgrade  the rear one unfortunately won't fit

Cheers MM. What were the issues with the rear one? I read "some minor mods to the ARB bracket", were they not so minor?

I don't think it will fit. The mount that holds the diff to the car is in the way. If there is a mod can you find done info I would like to see that?

Agree with MM, it won't fit.

The only mod I can think of is a cut and shut job.

Also the difference between the z4 roll bar and m3 is 2mm so you'd be better off with a specific aftermarket set.
Otherwise just fit the fronts

Holy thread revival batman........

Would you need to fit a rear ARB if you do the front from an m3?? I guess the M3 convertible one at 27mm is a straight swap onto a 3.0se as well??

I fitted the front off a convertible to a 2003 3.0i and not the rear. No issues. Nice little mod.
