so if you are going to drive it, get an automatic.

I recommend a 3.0si auto for all thou commuting needs :-D

I am a big fan of the community driven mobile satnav app waze, very good in populated areas for taking the fastest route from a to b, alot of users on the m25 so the traffic info is normally accurate on it

Hi OP,

I used to do the reverse of what your looking to do twice a week earlier this year from 10 - 25 and I've got to say the traffic in the opposite direction always looked worse.
I can't be sure how bad it is, but it didn't look all that fun!

I'm also with Disca here, Waze is a fantastic program for traffic. Also has cheap petrol prices on it nearby which is a bonus!

Thanks for all the responses! Some good bits of info/advice. I think I'd certainly do a test drive a couple of times!

I asked if they did flexible working, perhaps stagger my working hours and start work at 7am and it's up for discussion, so lets see how round 2 goes ...

Chii, what time was that?

Everyones different but I wouldn't do any journey that involved crawling in traffic every day, it would simply do my head in, and complete waste of time. I don't live far from work but still leave for work at 6:45am to miss the gridlock around town which grips it by 8am. Leave work just after 3pm. If you're happy to crawl in traffic each day go for it.

Tim.

I went for a job in Redhill (live near Hounslow). The only reason I considered it was because of the role and the pay. In the end they retracted the role but I would have taken it.

A school friend of mine lives in Slough and works at Luton airport. He commutes on the M25 everyday leaving early in the morning and working earlier hours. He says its ok so long as he's on the road by 6:30-7
