M vs M Sport Suspension, which one has the hard ride?

Hi,

Is the Z4M suspension noticeably harder/softer/about the same as a 3.0i/3.0Si on M Sport suspension with 18" Wheels on non runflats.
This came up in conversation with one of my work colleagues today who has an E46 M3 Cab, to be honest its something I had never though about before and couldn't answer it.

So over to you folks who have made the leap from an M Sport equipped cars on 18's and non runflats to the M, what did you think? Its an interesting question, especially when you consider the M cars run slightly larger tyre side walls

I had a 3.0Si with standard suspension and run flats ; changed to non run flats ; changed to Eibachs. All with 18" wheels. The ride was, in order - s**t, much less s**t, not too bad but sloooooow over speed bumps.

The ride on the M is much more comfortable even than the best ride in the 3.0 - which I think is probably 90% to do with the higher profile non run flat tyres. I wouldn't say it's softer though, as I don't notice the car moving around more than the 3.0 at all. It's actually much more composed.

it's a good Q if nothing else. Bing is a good marker as he's done what you're thinking of.

Yes the ride is better. Just don't stick 19" rims on, otherwise you are back to square one.
