M Sport Steering Wheel

I want to replace my standard wheel with one of these. Any comments from anyone who has done it? I have found one with the 3 plastic trim bits in black. Do these come off so I can put my silver ones on from my current wheel? Any problems with air bag etc when doing this? Be grateful for any advice as it's quite an expensive luxury!

If you swap to the silver ones, can I have first dibs on your black ones please :D

It might be worth a retrim of your current wheel especially as you want to keep your silver trim as at least one trim (the bottom one I think) needs a bit of modifying to fit the MSport wheel.
I like many forum members had mine retrimed by royals steering wheels and its a fantastic job. It cost just over £100 mark, making it a hell of a lot cheaper than a new MSport wheel, or even a secondhand one for that matter.

If it's the eBay one from quarry motors for nearly £200 I'd point you in the way of royals

Loads have used and recommend them

When I did mine, I also had to get the reto fit lead to get the buttons to work as the car was a 2003 model.

Cheers for all the replies -very useful. Yes it is the Quarry motors one.

Mack, I didn't know that this could be done! So yours was the standard skinny one and they changed it to how yours is now? It looks great.
 
Got it sorted by Royals this morning. He happened to have one in stock so I drove over there and he fitted it. I started to worry a bit about the airbag, when he said he didn't unplug the battery on Z4s. All seems ok though regarding warning lights. The new wheel is miles better than standard one. Well worth doing.

thanks I have sent in an email but as yet had no reply did try phoning but also no reply
but will try again as that definitely the next on my list after I get my non run flats fitted
 
Well after looking at these, and the Royals site, I think that's my Fathers Day present from the kids sorted, they look awesome. I thought from the off that my (std) wheel just felt too thin and hard..

Yep, another :thumbsup: for a royal wheels refurb. There's various options of padding and leather to chose from, also you can specify the colour of the stitching :)
