M-Sport Seats - Where should belt rest?

I've got the red msport seats, and the seatbelts are always right behind them whenever I get in.

The seats have what look to me to be retainers for the belts in the top corners - plastic guide type things.

Is that what they are? Should I be using them - or will i end up holding the belt on the seat, sitting on it, and marking leather? Have had a quick look at popping them open to get the belts in - but can't see what the trick is.

Cheers

Should be in the retaining guides - if they are not there then something has happened previously - new seats at some stage in the Zeds life....?

The seat belts go over the boltster so should never be behind you. Mine have no markings on the leather at all.

Safety seems fine - the belt still comes from behind/above the seat, so its the same as a normal car.

I only just got the car from BMW AUC - reckon they either did something as part of whatever they do and forgot to clip them back in, or else decided the seats looked nice without belts.

Either way - who knows the trick to pop the retainers things out so I can get the belts back in?

Pics would be handy.

There are two different types of retainers... depending on the year. Early seats and Alpina have a big fat plastic one, M cars and facelifts have a thinner retainer. But I'm sure I have seen some cross-over there too.

They're all the same on the M-sport seats. :?

Its a thin plastic thing - looks like it should pop out. Just not quite sure how, and don't want to snap anything!

Looking at the second pic of your previuos post the belt is sitting as it should through the retainer and over the bolster

Seems to be two different types of retainers on the M-seats as well.

PawnSacrifice's seems to be closed, while mine are split at the top.
This makes for easy removal of the seatbelt, as I don't have to unscrew or remove any covers.

Nope, check Jodd's pic... there is the thin one and the much fatter one (more like standard seats size)

No idea why, but they seemed to go thin ones on the 2005/6 ish onwards models.
