Does anybody have a photo of the seat occupancy pad from an M-Sport seat or even the part number please?

I'm really struggling to find any images on the net and even to find the part number or anywhere selling them.

Have tried to find the part number on:

Realoem
Hubauer
LLL parts

This is the closest I have gotten but the ebay ad I have taken the image from had little detail.

It looks like it’s integrated into the seat bolster so not available separately..

The seat occupancy detection consists of a seat occupancy mat on which pressure-sensitive sensors are fitted. In addition, the seat occupancy mat has a hard-wire connection to an electronic evaluation unit. The weight classification is based on evaluating the impression created by the person when taking their seat. The seat occupancy detection cannot measure weights. Due to the activation of individual cells of the seat occupation mat, a weight class is determined by the electronic evaluation unit. The electronic evaluation unit sends cyclical information on the classification to the airbag control unit.
Seat occupancy detection

Data exchange between the seat occupancy detection and the airbag control unit is across a hardware cable. The seat occupancy detection monitors the inputs and outputs. Possible fault states are stored in the fault memory of the airbag control unit.

If there is a defect in the seat occupancy detection, the seat occupation mat including foam part must be replaced. After replacement of the seat occupancy mat, the fault memory of the airbag control unit contains the following entry: "Seat occupancy detection, front passenger: not released". After exchange, the seat occupancy mat must be released. The test program for release is located at:

Brilliant! very helpful

You're correct it is part of the seat base foam

A drivers seat base foam is under $200
A passenger foam is just over $1000!

Part number is 52107258203 in case anyone looking in the future needs it.

I'm going to assume there is no occupancy sensor in the driver seat - it's assumed there is a driver if the vehicle is moving.

Thus the price difference.

An update to this is that I have been installing e89 m-sport seats into the e85/6 so decided to install an occupancy pad from an e85/6 into the passenger seat.

It turns out the seat does just have a regular occupancy sensor like most other bmw's and the part number is 65779153118 and can be found here:

https://www.lllparts.co.uk/product/65779153118/bmw-sensor-mat-co-driver-s-seat-identif-65779153118

So if anyone on the board has problems with theirs in the future at least you now know it can be swapped out
