M running & servicing costs

Unfortunately my local stealer seems to be the most expensive in the country so in prep for purchasing a Z4MR, I am interested in finding out the following:
(1) What is the average cost for extending 12 month warranty on the MR (with / without assist)
(2) What is the usual cost for (a) oil service; (b) inspection 1 (c) inspection 2
(3) What is the rough cost on tyres for all 4 corners

I know BELOW is flexible dep on driving etc, but rough estimate is fine
(4) what sort of mileage are oil service, Insp1 & Insp2 expected to be performed at usually?
(5) what's the usual mileage on a set of tyres

just want to be sure i have all the associated costs in mind when it comes to making a deal. thanks in advance for all input

Not an owner but I've been looking at this:

(1) - about £1k I believe
(2) - 12000-15000 miles - Oil Service - £200
24000-30000 miles - Inspection I - £600
36000-45000 miles - Oil Service - £200
48000-60000 miles - Inspection II - £1000
(3) - I'm budgeting a grand, but I'd imagine thats way over (hopefully freeing up some spare cash for winter tyres)
(4) - See my answer for 2
(5) - No idea, keen to see the answers from others

1) £500-£1000 depending on level of cover & excess you're prepared to pay
2) See previous answer, but Inspection 2 can be had for £800 if you're prepared to shop around and play one against the other
3) Standard Continental M3s are about £150 front and £170 rear - so £650 a set
4) See previous answer - but it's also dependent on how it's driven (stop-start town driving will do it no good and could bring your servicing interval to as low as 10,000 miles)
5) Depends on how you drive it, but the fronts will last 2-3 times longer than the rears, and you'll find the inside edge of the rears will wear more quickly than the outside, so get used to checking the INSIDE for wear.

I spent weeks agonising over what the costs may or may not be before i bought the car.

Pretty sure the last time i thought about it was just before i got it. The thing just has a way of erasing any reservations in a kind of tsunami of noise and magnificence.

Just get it bought.

Where have you seen rear conti's @ about £170?

I'm a couple of weeks away from needing a pair, and the cheapest I've found fitted is a few squid under 200.

Soz to hijack the thread....so getting it back to the OP. I too contemplated all the additional ///M expense, before buying 2 months ago. I have to say after experiencing the thrill on a daily basis...I'd probably pay double again! (and my job doesn't pay great!)

Where have you seen rear conti's @ about £170?

That was how much I paid last time I ordered some, and is the price for the tyre only (fitting, delivery will be extra). The price will fluctuate based on stock levels and the value of the £ to the €. I normally just search the online tyre places and ring around a few local tyre fitters to see what I can find.

Currently TyreTraders (ignore their description about being Mercedes approved) have them for £177 and Camskill have them for £180 each - but that's for delivery only, and I usually try to get my local, trusted tyre place to price match. Sometimes they do, sometime they can't, but still only charge me £7.50/corner to fit.

OK so I'm at 51K miles.....

1. £835 by direct debit monthly for complete warranty and breakdown 100 quid excess. (had two O2 visits and a springs replacement last year for VFM)

2/4. oil - shouls be able to get in the 180-200 quid range, insp. I - about 5-600. Insp. II I had about 3k miles ago, including brake fluid change, wipers and few other bits n bobs 900 quid. if you've a 2006 model you could soon and should ask for BMW 4 year + discount on all servicing. saved a few quid for me. i got car at 23k miles it had just had Insp 1 by dealer, oil was at 37k miles and Insp 2 at 49.5k.

3/5. M3 contis were in the 700 quid mark for all four changed at 34k miles - done another 16K and rears have about 45% left fronts 55%.
