M MFSW with chromeline interior

Possibly a weird request, but I'm thinking of getting the M steering wheel and my car has the chromeline interior with the light grey dash.

I was wondering if anyone had some pics of the M wheel fitted with this dash. Trying to work out whether it would look odd with the black wheel!

I had the same dilemma, decided i didnt like the difference so converted the silver bottom spoke to fit.... with assistance from a forum member. Much nicer result IMHO
 
pawnsacrifice had a ///M wheel with silver spokes, should give you a good enough idea. Think you will find he posted pics if yo do a search.

Indeed - although it doesn't fit completely flush at the bottom (I don't mind it), and is a bit of a sod to get the damn things on. Link in my signature. Also, have a look at Sideshowbob's How to retrofit M Steering Wheel there is some work I did with z4alfie on the spokes for his wheel - trimmed down.

If you're thinking of doing this the How To is worth a bookmark :wink:
 
Going the silver spoke route would be great but it's going to add to the cost a bit too much really, with having to buy the controls for it since my current wheel dosent have any.
I mostly wanted the M wheel for the multi-function and the chunkier feel was a nice extra.
 
mattgayton, I bought the bald M wheel on eBay and the spokes from a dealer for about the same price as the M wheel... I like the silver spoked but the M wheel with black spokes is neater.

See what Joe at Soper Lincoln can do for you on those.

In the mean time, if I was just to order the multi-function buttons are they easy to fit to the standard wheel?
My car has a build date of March 2004 so I don't think I need the extra cable if I was fitting the whole MFSW, but what about just the buttons?

A doddle mate, only things I found a pain were patience while waiting for the electrics to shut off and the finding the airbag release pins. The extra cable is for the MFSW buttons and is supplied as standard if you buy just the spokes, but you should be fine. Just use the How To.

Be careful when removing the old spokes - the bottom on is a bitch to get off in one piece. I'd remove the back first and push the front off from the back - pushing the screw lugs though the wheel. Keep the spokes to one side in case you need to cut the bottom spokes later. If they do break they are repairable.
