M - Inspection 2 Invoice / Job Sheet

Yeah my dealer confirmed that he'd need the car overnight as they do the valve clearances in the morning when the engine is cold.

He assured me everything was done on mine. New gaskets / diff oil / valve clearances (no shims needed).

That's the thing. If they are willing to lie to you that they have been checked, all bets are off. It may help...

You can only do so much. I checked that the rocker cover bolts on mine had been moved, FWIW! There are some warning signs though, particularly if they don't keep the car overnight to check them cold.

The new rocker cover gasket should be easy to spot, but again on its own means nothing.
 
I had inspection 2 done in Feb so I'll have sheet in hand book
I'll hunt it out and post:)

Plus try Bmw-service.co.uk

Put in reg and mileage and look through options
I had my ins2 for £429 as winter deal :)

That price is incorrect and while not be honoured by any dealer, it is for non ///M cars. It has been highlighted before.
 
Yup that was the price for mine last year and M
As it was a winter deal by Bmw over xmas

The service guy of whom has now been fired argued over as it costs them £629 to do an isp2
But yup:)
All done Diff box oils filters sparks shims checked etc etc
I'll go look as totally forgot today to get the service bock and the print out and you'll clearly see my car and price plus £50 orso for brake fluid at my addition

Trust me it pays to check that link I put up!

As can see clearly my M inspection 2 for £429 plus £54 by my adding brake fluid
Plus can see the change gaskets etc when doing shims
Hence I put that service link up :)
 
D4dawg, how do you find North Oxford garage for service? They're not far from me so will likely be using them for an oil service + brake fluid change in the new year.

Think you were very lucky, everybody who tried that price was advised it was an error. I couldn't get my dealer down from over £900.

just goes to show what they can do it for !! bet you was over the moon with that one!!
 
I would have thought the parts alone are close to £400 from BMW....

They have lost out big time on that,assuming they did actually change stuff...
 
Hey all,

They did say it was an offer by BMW and franchises didn't have to honour it.
But as it was booked in a month in advance and laura and I triple checked the offer with Bmw she said the price was a winter offer

I screen shooted my phone of offer and spoke to service manager and they honoured it.
I as some one asked, did ask would I actually receive a full insp2 and they gave word
And knowing my own car anally
I could see cover under hood had been off
And they even showed me changes on ramp
Plus you can tell by driving as smooooooth

As said to them they'll make it back off me anyway haha plus it only goes to them since :)
 
Ps I had in my mind booked it for that price

Plus it only needed an oil change
So it was a no brainer for that price
And as I explained if didn't honour it id slate the life out of garage
They smiled and took keys
Now know pretty much all at garage :)
N yeah he said to them it cost £600+ for materials and labour ;)
 
That's a bargain price for a inspection 2. Whats the going rate? Brystone Will be doing mine and I would also like to get the Rod bearings done at the same time.. Car just ticked over 50k miles this week.. My next service is oil but the inspection 2 will be around 70k miles. which works out nicely for the Rod bearings

Won't inspection 2 be at about 60k assuming you can only get 15k max between services (i.e. 500 gallons at 30mpg).

It's what I get at a steady 65mph on the clock, so doesn't happen often :P

Although mine gets about 14,500 between services according to the clock - possibly due to interim oil changes at 7,000.
