Thinking of getting a V8 M3 ....some ads say M DCT....some just say DCT....
are they the same thing or is M DCT something extra?

Are you keeping the Zed Micheal.

Deff keeping Zed. Need to experience some big bhp. Stick me down for beefeater....could coincide with an M3 in Bristol I've got my eye on.

OK matey, be good to see you

On my V8 (X5M) I have the 'M' DCT where I can program various M modes for the gearbox, suspension and accelerator responsiveness. I have a number of M buttons (M1, M2) for presets of favourite combinations.

Perhaps they mean that with M DCT.

I've got an E92 V8 DCT M3 and I think that all M cars with DCT have the option to alter the severity of the shift change, not sure that is is fitted to all BMWs with the DCT transmission.

They're great cars by the way

I think you might have a point there, the non' M' DCT models don't have the programming mode.

Ok thanks ....that clears things up....dont suppose anyone knows if the "competition pack "M3 comes with m dct as standard.?

Any DCT that you buy in an "M" car will be an MDCT...............the only dcts that aren't mdcts are in non "M" cars lol

Hope that's simplified it for you

ps........basically just but a V8 M3 and so long as it's not a manual car then it will be an mdct.
