Wouldn't you expect Z4MC prices to be similar to Z3MC prices? I mean the Z3's with <40k mileage are listed for anywhere from £18-25k, but higher mileage can be had as cheap as £7k.

I'd have thought, as these cars are rare, and seemingly well sought after, the higher end will keep their value a bit better. Those garage queens out there will be getting rarer and rarer, in 3-5 years time getting a <50k ///MC will be a lot harder than now. As mileages continue to rise prices will continue to fall?

Yes that's a fair point and I do agree. But mine isn't exactly high mileage at 69k. From what I've seen, the lowest priced MC is £12,750. But they've only recently dropped to that level and those few around that price we don't know much about. I think the ultimate garage queens (eg under 25k miles) are worth the premium but if you're buying one of those I'd suggest keeping it a long time or putting little mileage on it otherwise you are likely to lose big money. Whereas if you pay a lot less to start with I think the drop in value will be less in the long run. I think the M's fall into 3 different categories. Top end are the low milers/owners lots of toys, eg £18k. Middle of the range with circa 50k miles on with 3 owners for example for circa £15k (Insp 2 due etc!). Then ones similar to mine for circa £13k. Obviously there are exceptions to this but that's my take on it! I think the only ones that will really hold money are ones like Stuart's, but as long as he keeps the mileage down. But then I think what's the point in having it if you're constantly worrying about putting miles on it!! These cars will easily see 150k miles + and if I do sell mine I will look to buy another in 5 years say for £7k as you've predicted

I do agree, and your car is a lovely example, I think the problem whilst it's not high mileage at the moment, buyers are thinking about having to sell on a car with 100K mileage....But as you said if you're looking to buy a car to drive 10k per year, then there's little point in buying a <30k example, these engines are bulletproof and have plenty of miles left in the tank. I'll be buying mine as a weekender, so will maybe put 3-5k per year mileage wise, and will be looking for a car as close to 30k mileage as possible.

Personally, if I was looking for an ///MC for a daily I'd be biting your hand off. I'm looking for a combination of fun and low depreciation, and I believe a low mileage weekend toy in ///MC guise is my best option.

In 5 years time, I wouldn't be surprised in 50k ///MC's were still selling for £15k.

Give me 8 months and mine will be in the 100k mileage club.

No intention of selling as work is going very well a the moment, but I wasn't even getting £12k offers last year when it was up for sale (with 60k on it) so unless the market has picked up significantly I can't see it getting any offers above £10k once it hits 100k, which makes it much easier to keep

I think the consensus is yes... It is over priced.
