Thanks - sadly i think i'm now pushed for time and would have to suck up the cost of getting the Vred's from "whoever i can" rather than the best price (camskill).

I've got well over 3-4mm on the rears, i doubt i'll use 2mm in 2k miles, i'll just have to watch it closely and avoid any drifting :evil:
 
Right - turns out i've done quite a bit of tyre burnery in the last week or two, my tyres are lower than i thought :x

I'm legal, i just fancy scoping up how feasible tyre change is on last-day-before-mega-roadtrip :D

Anyone any experience of same-day tyre change, and any recommendations? I'm looking at 265/30/R19 for CSLs, currently on Vreds but happy to do Michelin PSS - pending whats avail. This could be a fun challenge, i leave 5am Tuesday morning! :D
 
I have to disagree with some on here...have just come back from a 5 day trip, and I had my foot down hard in France, and yes 120-140.....and not one police car anywhere.

I have a client who drives a Ferrari and he says he takes €500 with him when he goes to France, and he drives at 150 plus...if he gets stopped her gets fined, but he knows he won't get a ban, like he would here.

Maybe I was just lucky....
 
Can they actually issue a ban? It must then only apply in France surely.

http://www.etyres.co.uk doesnt seem to have a great selection available, Avons, Falken, Yokohama, Pirelli Pzeros or Eagle F1's. hmph.
Maybe sheen tyres can help me out. I wonder if local garages can get tyres in same day? I know they do that for parts.
