Lunch in Hawick on Sunday - suggestions?

Hi all,

Anyone know of a decent place to get something to eat in Hawick on a Sunday? Been doing some re-thinking of our Border hoon arrangements this weekend and need a suggestion of where to eat - we will be in the large carpark in the centre of town.

I need to speak to a client in Hawick tomorrow so will ask for a recommendation - last nice place I ate there was an ex bank but probably not ideal for a forum / group lunch. I do know of a pub up the hill which might suit . . . .I'll report back asap.

Not Hawick but The Kingsknowes Hotel in Galashiels is a good place to eat and they're very accommdating to car clubs. About 15 of us landed there last year, on the way home from an MX5 Rally in Pitlochry. We just rolled up unannounced and hungry on a Sunday evening when the place was packed. The staff were brilliant, they simply opened another part of the hotel restaurant for us. No fuss, they just took it all in their stride. The food was good too and the car park nice and safe being well off the main A7
