LPG- would you?

It looks like my commute will be getting considerably longer in the next couple of months, 70 miles a day round trip, fuel costs would cripple me in the Z4M.
Has anyone got experience of LPG conversions? not for the Z, I'm thinking of an old clunker like these-

I've also been considering Nissan Leafs, but it seems I might have to remove some lead from my right foot if I want the range to last.

70 miles would be pushing it with a Leaf unless you can charge it at work, very cheap at £150 a month though. Some of the xdrivers guys got them for around town driving, max range is about 90.

I had LPG for two years whilst I lived in NL ,it was fine there as there are LPG stations everywhere. Not so sure about that here. Only downside was the smell of the LPG and the fueling was a bit messy when disconnecting the hose (again, the gas gives you smelly hands :D ).

Cars linked - not keen on the first one really, the second one looks fine - just curious why you would do a conversion and then sell the car so soon afterwards.

Couple of guys i work with run LPG. They absolutely swear by it.

One has a Merc something or other, the other a E46 330 Estate. Still has a bit of power but only something daft like 70p per liter, makes absolute sense to me.

I can get LPG at a local Shell, so it's pretty convenient.
There's a 7 series for about £4.4k thats tempting.... but the more I spend the more likely the Z4M would get sold :-( as it is it will likely end up not getting used enough to justify having it sat around.

An old colleague used a Vauxhall Vectra Dual Fuel car - He loved the taking his own car on a business trip and claiming expenses ! ((then about 50p/Mile)

At that time I had a 1500 cortina - after a weekend of doing what 19 year olds do - I was almost skint.
Payday was on a Thursday and £1 half filled the tank. Happy days but it's all relative.
