Hey People,

Washed the car after a few weeks neglect! It still polishes up well for a 2004 model... I have also shot a video of the exhaust for those who are interested (I will put that together shortly). Any comments and critics would be great :D ENJOY

Very nice Mr Max - I think you have the look just right, and those exhausts are gorgeous

looks great. the only thing i don't like is the orange front indicator against the red paintwork. any plans to change it to clear?

I like the contrast with the black wheels and red body work

Looking good!

That is a seriously nice looking car. Love the red stripe on the black wheel. Sits just nice as well

Thanks for your kind words people.

I'm pretty pleased with how it looks now but I think the front bumper looks a bit dated compared to the newer BMW's and certainly the M Bumper. I might go for one of them but they are so expensive.. I did consider getting rid of the orange on the headlights but weighed up the time taken to do the mod and how it would look and decided against it. I think they blend in well with the red bodywork as they are.

Really interested in adding little LED's to the underside of the wing mirrors or door handles :D I will post up a the exhaust noise soon so watch this space. I was undecided to get the negative camber adjusted after lowering it but my tyre wear hasn't been too bad so I might just leave it. The main problem is the roof motor is kaput so need to get that replaced at some point!

The exhaust was done by a company called Longlife http://www.longlife.co.uk/ They cut the rear bumper and made the exhaust to how I wanted it :D

That red is lovely - was it bought like that or sprayed, think I've only seen Ms and the E89 in red?

What did it all cost, which longlife depot did you use. as they have done one,if i go down that route best to go to same place, how long did the job take?? Sorry about all questions but very intrested!!! :driving:

Very nice  You selected a theme and stuck to it, which is my belief of how mods are best conducted. Simple ideas like the red rim circle echoing the bodycolour. Twin theme of black and red, white light spots echoing the quads, etc.

Agree with the other comments and the ambers do jar and imho date the car falsely. Def something to think about and so many have now folled and done it that it's no more than a Saturday morning job.

Thanks for your comments :D

I got the exhaust done at Longlife, Carlshorten. I cant remember the name of the guy that works there but he appeared to know his stuff. There was some debate about removing the charcoal filter from the right hand side of the car but after some research on here it was deemed to be removed with no problem.

The total cost for the work was £500 and was finished in just under a days work. It did take sometime for the exhaust to sound as it does now but I'm really pleased with it now! Personally I think I would rather spend the money on an M-Bumper rather than fart around with the headlights but everyone to their own! I can see the appeal to modernising the headlights :)
